- Exciting team events and retreats during the year
- Perform and Review full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
- Provide top notch support to your clients’ questions
- Ensure overall accuracy and completeness of clients’ books
- Supervise, coach and mentor junior staff members
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of the clients’ banking and credit card accounts, expense reports, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and invoicing
- Review, prepare and file GST/HST/PST returns
- Review, prepare and present month-end reports to clients
- Review and prepare personal and corporate tax returns
- Ensure appropriate documentation of processes for your clients
- Research and draft technical letters or guidance on accounting and tax issues
- Lead responses to CRA queries, government registrations and other related matters.
Qualifications and Skills
- MUST HAVE – Minimum 3 years experience in a public accounting firm in the accounting/tax role
- Experience working with cloud-based accounting software, such as Xero, Quickbooks Online, Dext, Hubdoc and Tax software such as Taxprep or Profile
- CPA designation or working toward one
- Working knowledge of ASPE or GAAP and Canadian taxation rules.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive problem solver with a customer centric focus
- Excellent organizational skills, takes accountability and ability to multitask competing priorities
- Team player, energetic and highly motivated with a desire to learn
